Summer BBQ - 17th June - Brammerton Common - Report
A well attended weekend with 17 boats and 2 cars enjoying sunny hot weather with just a spot of rain on Saturday afternoon.
Friday
We arrived about 3pm to find 15 club boats already moored. We double moored until a boat moved off and we moved onto the quay. Wayne and Tania arrived and moored against us as quay was full.
We all sat outside enjoying the warm weather until about 9.30pm.
Saturday
Hazy sunshine start and continued through the day, very warm.
Mike and Wendy arrived early and got the last space making 17 boats.
All four gazebos were put up in the morning and Bim and I set up our music equipment.
Ray and Margaret popped down by car as did ex members Andy and Lucy, nice to catch up with them.
In the afternoon we all gathered outside the gazebos for a Bingo session called by Bim, a prize was given for one line, two lines and full house.
It started to rain after the Bingo so we all gathered in the gazebos for Jackie's quiz, which was won by Steve and Angela's team.
The rain stopped and we held the Fancy Hat competition, 16 members entered with Audrey as judge and she picked Jim as the winner.
The raffle followed the hat competition and was well supported, thank you to all who gave a prize.
The raffle, quiz and bingo raised £182.00 and the club will make that up to £200.00 and donate it to The Hemsby Lifeboat.
BBQ's were lit about 5pm creating the usual 'smoke on the water'!
We all gathered in the gazebos for an evening of music provided by Bim and myself. Bim also did a music quiz through the evening.
We finished just after 10.30pm after a full and enjoyable day.
Sunday
Another hot day, the gazebos were swiftly taken down and all club boats had left by mid day.
Hope you all enjoyed the weekend.
